Drive Electric Day at the Capitol

  • Virginia State Capitol 1000 Bank Street Richmond, VA, 23219 United States (map)

To coincide with Conservation Lobby Day, an annual event sponsored by the Virginia Conservation Network, Drive Electric RVA and the Virginia chapter of the Sierra Club will be offering rides in electric vehicles for state lawmakers and their staff. The goal is to give policymakers a taste of why EVs are a fun, practical transportation alternative that can also benefit Virginia's environment.

We are looking for a dozen EV owners who are willing to volunteer their time and their cars. Volunteers will work in three shifts: one in the morning (8:30-10:30 AM), one at midday (11 AM-1 PM), and one in the afternoon (1:30-3:30 PM). For more details and to sign up, please go to this SignUpGenius page: http://bit.ly/DriveElectricDayCapitol.

Please let your local representatives in the House of Delegates and Virginia Senate know about this event. (You can use https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/ to find out who those people are.) Lawmakers who are interested in riding in an EV can email DriveElectricRVA@mail.com.
