Racial Ecologies of the South

  • 3300 West Broad Street Richmond, VA, 23230 United States (map)

Please join us for an exciting environmental justice symposium and public forum in downtown Richmond at The High Point this April 13, 2019 . The event will include a panel of speakers followed by Q & A !

Racial Ecologies of the South is part of a broader multidimensional effort to build ecological and environmental health equity in the American South. A key element of this collective struggle involves decentering dominant environmental narratives and lifting up historically marginalized voices, experiences, and struggles--particularly those of women of color doing survival and empowerment work under the violent conditions of neoliberal state capitalism. Racial Ecologies of the South is ultimately about reckoning with and resisting intersectional oppression and settler colonial violence in our collective struggle for a better way of life on this embattled planet.
